Every smile starts with an Initial Visit
We love seeing new patients and we’re excited to talk about your family’s orthodontic care. This complimentary consultation will help you to get acquainted with our office and learn more about orthodontics. Our goal is to provide treatment that is personally designed for each patient. Since every person’s smile is unique, we have set aside special time to get to know you and address your orthodontic concerns.
The American Association of Orthodontist recommends that all children receive an orthodontic exam by the age of 7
While treatment is most often not needed at that age, this exam allows us to evaluate development of the teeth and jaws, gather baseline data, and advise you about what to expect in the future if treatment is not yet indicated.
During your complimentary visit, Dr. Sanders will:
- Review your dental and medical history forms
- Provide a complete orthodontic evaluation
- Recommend the best next step which could be:
- No treatment required
- Observation – patient not ready at this time but will be placed on a recall where Dr. Sanders will monitor for the best, optimum time to start treatment.
- Orthodontic treatment is indicated
If orthodontic treatment is indicated your next appointment would be for:
Study Records consist of digital X-rays, photographs, plaster study models of your teeth and digital photographs. After reviewing all the study records Dr. Sanders will establish a treatment plan which is customized to each individual’s needs.
Our office will be glad to answer any questions or concerns and we will provide all of the information you will need to get your orthodontic treatment started.
Your smile is our top priority!
Visiting the orthodontist every 4-6 weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. Our practice will work with you to make sure that your appointments are as convenient as possible. We reserve our after school appointments for your shorter, monthly visits, but we do ask that we find a time that works during morning or early afternoon when scheduling longer appointments 45 min or more.
Visiting Your Family Dentist During Orthodontic Treatment
It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist for your regular six months even during orthodontic treatment, for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups. Some of our patients chose to go every 4 months for extra hygiene.
